Animal Farm is represented as the Soviet Union in which when they took over the czars of Russia. In animal farm, Old Major (Lenin) gives the speech to inspire the animals. Later on the animals do take over the farm and like in the Soviet Union, the farm did not prosper as planned.


12. How do the pigs control the animals? Give at least two specific examples.


The pigs take control over the animals in which by if the animals do not agree or are not sure about a new law, the pigs would make Squealer convince the animals that each decision the pigs made was for a benefit for the farm and the animals, not for the pigs (in reality it was for the pigs). Later on in the story, Napoleon brought out his dogs that he took under his arm, he would use the dogs to intimidate the animals of the farm to vote and stay quiet.
